A romantic ride over the frozen lake or through the fabulous Stazerwald forest is one of the highlights of a stay in St. Moritz. Warm and snuggled in blankets and furs, you get to admire the stunning scenery over the backs of horses.

The following are a few tips for captivating horse-drawn carriage rides through a breathtaking winter wonderland:

Rosegtal
From the Pontresina railway station, the route leads into the enchantingly rugged and romantic Rosegtal, a nature reserve for Alpine flora and fauna. The trip takes about 60 minutes (on foot around 90 minutes). Lunch on the terrace of the Restaurant Roseggletscher. From the restaurant, a footpath leads further into the valley to the Rosegg Glacier.

Fextal
In the centre of Sils-Maria village, the route branches off into picturesque Fextal. The carriage trip into the valley takes around 45 minutes, on foot around 90 minutes. There are several restaurants along the way as well as a tiny 15th century church in Fex-Crasta that is well worth seeing.

Stazerwald Forest
An excursion by horse-drawn carriage from St. Moritz Bad through the Stazerwald forest to the Restaurant Meierei on Lake St. Moritz or on to the Stazersee lake. A snack in the restaurant or a refreshing dip in the cool mountain lake.
