Ice Skating
Figure skating in St. Moritz is a century-old tradition. Ice-skating instructors with famous names give lessons on almost 20 rinks. Ice-skating events have also frequently been held, with the quality of costumes and presentation as high as the technical skill and acrobatics of participants.
Ice hockey is naturally also on the programme as well as its precursor, bandy, played with a stick that is bent downwards. The ice rink of the Kulm Hotel was among the first in St. Moritz. Even Olympic Winter Games took place on this historic ice rink. Rental of sport equipment and skating lessons is available on the spot, now as always.
During winter months, every Upper Engadine village or town has an ice rink for skating, hockey and curling. The curling and hockey rinks can be hired (reservation required). Several ice rinks are also open in the evenings. The Ludains Ice Arena in St. Moritz Bad has artificial ice throughout the year.
