Ski-Hunting World Championship
The programme of the Ski-Hunting World Championship is divided into several parts. The official welcome and World Championship opening ceremony take place on the Thursday evening. On the Friday, competitors participate in a hunting-style shooting competition using different target discs, in which they can earn special points and finish the day with a total score. If the weather is bad, these points count towards Saturday’s World Championship ratings. The World Championship race is held on the Saturday, whereby each participant is required to complete two giant slalom ski races, stopping off to shoot at a round target. In order to give everyone the chance of becoming World Champion, it is not the fastest hunter-skier who wins, but rather the one who achieves the smallest difference in the results of the two races. There are three different categories: Hunters (Ladies), Hunters (Men) and Teams (4 persons). The race culminates in a prize-giving ceremony and Gala Evening.
