The teams of two will start at the top of the valley in the small community of Maloja. A short run will take them to the first swim, that then takes them for a beautiful trail run before the longest swim, the race then continues both along the valley floor and also up into the mountains with the highest swim at 2 600 m. The views, the trails and the swims are absolutely awesome. A total distance of 46,5 km of which 40 km are trail running and 6,5 km are open- water swimming. There are a total of 9 swims of which the longest is 1600 meters. The course will take the teams through the communities of Sils and St. Moritz to the finish line by the lake in beautiful Silvaplana. The total vertical gain is 2 050 meters!
8 teams will qualify to the following ÖTILLÖ. Top 3 men, Top 3 Mixed, Top 2 women. ÖTILLÖ is the Swimrun World Championship, hosted in the Stockholm Archipelago on the first Monday of September each year. In 2012 CNN ranked ÖTILLÖ as one of the toughest 1-day races in the world.
In your registration fee the transportation (from Silvaplana) to the start line, the race fee and the banquet is included. The race briefing is on Friday, the 11th of July in Silvaplana at 19:00. You need to be there to be able to enter the race.
