Bobsleigh: IBSF Para Sport World Cup

Mon, 22.02.2021 - Fri, 26.02.2021
With high-speed races down a winding ice track, bobsleigh certainly tests the strength, skill and mettle of its athletes. Its a challenge that elite competitors with physical disabilities will take up at the World Cup in February.

St. Moritz, cradle of bobsleigh and skeleton racing, has made another major contribution to development of the scene with the introduction of the first para monobob. The first person to ride this specialised piece of sports equipment was the Swiss Paralympic gold medallist Heinz Frei, in January 2012, and since then it has become a standard feature in the world of para bobsleigh.

Back then, only a handful of wheelchair users competed in bobsleigh, but now the para bob scene is growing steadily from year to year, thanks to the unique adrenaline kick the sport offers. Guest rides are not possible in this discipline on the Olympia Bob Run, but spectators can enjoy all the action and excitement from beside the track.
