The Poetry of Space
The sensuous maximalism of the Kulm Hotel lobby is the work of the Italian designer Lorenzo “Renzo” Mongiardino, who created it in the 1990s. Architect and author Cécile Christmann now unveils some of its secrets and situates it within its historical context. Photographer Flavio Karrer, in turn, focuses his lens on textures, patterns, and materials. And on the wandering sun, whose reflections both sharpen and blur the contours of mountains and furniture.
